Tumsa Nahin Dekha happened after the success of Murder. When the hit combination involving Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt and Emraan Hashmi join hands, you tend to expect a lot.
The story of Tumsa Nahin Dekha is that Daksh Mittal (Emraan Hashmi) who is a charmingly witty and perpetually drunk millionaire comes across a working class girl Jia (Dia Mirza), shoplifting at a mall. He falls in love with her instantly, only to discover later that Jia is a striptease dancer. Now, the problem is that Daksh has to marry a hi-society girl named Anahita (Pooja Bharti), whom he detests. But, the clause is that if he doesn't marry Anahita, he would not inherit the millions. Here, the hero is forced to choose between love and money. Will Daksh forego his love for his beloved and marry someone he cannot stand? You have to watch the film to know more.
The movie seems to be inspired from the earlier Hollywood flicks Cindrella and Pretty Woman. Emraan and Dia have given brilliant performances. Emraan seems to have worked very hard on his role in the film. The dialogues are delivered effortlessly and he comes forward as a very natural actor. Dia has evolved a lot as an actress and is very confident on screen. In fact, she even does some dare and bare scenes. However, the characterization of the other characters in the film falters. Anupam Kher, who is a wonderful actor, is sidelined suddenly while the character of Sharat Saxena and Surekha Sikri could have been dealt better. Pooja Bharti is average. Though Daksh hates Anahita, one tends to wonder why! Perhaps an explanation could have been given as to why he dislikes her.
Music by Nadeem-Shravan is extremely good. The tunes are hummable and the placement of songs in the enterprise is just perfect. 'Mujhse Tumse Mohabbat Hai', 'Maine Soch Liya' and 'Yeh Dhuan Dhuan' is very catchy and all songs have been picturised very well. However, the beautiful locales of Dubai and Malaysia could have been exploited better. In fact the music of Tumsa Nahin Dekha is its trump card though the screenplay has fallen short of our expectations.
