The Angrez is a 2006 Indian comedy movie directed by Kuntaa Nikkil. The word "Angrez" in Hindustani language refers to English people, and in general, to all foreigners, specifically the whites. However in the movie, it is a term used by the comical gang of residents from the Charminar locality in Hyderabad to refer to the NRIs they encounter at an Irani hotel. "The Angrez" is the first movie in Hyderabadi dialect. The movie was a trend-setter in that, it was one of the first to effectively and humorously, often resorting to the slapstick kind, portray the dialect of the Old City and the Telangana tongue.
