Participating in a television chat show, Mohan Babu made yet another sensational statement. Asked why he did not get even a single Nandi award so far, despite his wonderful roles in hundreds of films during his 34 years of film career, Mohan Babu said he had never aspired for any awards. “Gaddi padesthe nandulu vasthayi” (We can attract Nandis by offering them grass), he said.

Explaining his statement, he said though Nandi awards were going to some genuine people some times, many times, one has to bribe the people who matter to get the award. “That is why I said we have to offer them grass to attract Nandis” he said.
