Vaamanan is another well made entertainer released in the current season. The first 30 minutes of the film looks very peppy and interesting and grips you to your seat, before slipping out into a run of the mill usual Kollywood style thriller.The film starts with a skimpy swim suit scene of Model Pooja (Lakshmi Rai) for an ad film shoot. The ad director uses a remote controlled toy helicopter fitted with a mini camera to get top angle shots of Pooja for the ad. But the toy spins out of control and lands on top of a tree. In Vamanan Young actor Jai (Subramaniyapuram fame) plays Anand, a young carefree boy from salem who comes to chennai to stay along with his friend Chandru (Santhanam) to pursue his dream. His passion and new found contacts which he develops in chennai introduce him to a new world and what follows as an after effect is the crux of the story.
